Open Play FAQ.

Who can come to Open Play?+

Open Play is open to everyone who knows the basic flow of American Mahjong. Social Club members play free; everyone else pays the small listed session fee.

Is Open Play the Social Club drop-in option?+

No. A Social Club drop-in is one eligible Monday at the recurring club table. Open Play is its own pop-up: free for Social Club members and available to everyone else for the listed fee.

What does Open Play cost?+

Open Play is free for current Social Club members. Everyone else can reserve a seat for the small fee shown with that session.

Do I need to reserve ahead?+

Yes. Book the session so Nina can plan tables and confirm the pop-up details. The booking page is the source of truth for availability.

Can a complete beginner attend?+

A lesson is the better first step if you have never played. Once you know the tiles, Charleston, and turn flow, Open Play is a friendly place to practice.

What should I bring?+

Bring your current NMJL card if you have one. The session details will tell you whether anything else is needed; tiles are supplied unless the booking says otherwise.
